Over 16 acres of Providence’s downtown landscape currently exist as empty space! This acreage takes the form of 50 vacant lots. While many are used for parking, others (such as 110 Westminster) remain in a state of limbo, lying dormant between demolition and construction. We have identified these lots and mapped them in order to gain a greater spatial understanding of the city’s current land use.

The blue tacks represent private parking lots. The green tacks represent pay parking lots.  The yellow tacks denote vacant lots and the one purple tack points to an unofficial public park.
